• PAngband 0.1.1 for Win95/98/NT
  I've compiled the Windows version of Keldon Jones PAngband 0.1.1.

  There have been some small changes from the original PAngband 0.1.1 version to the Windows 95/98/NT:

  • The "usleep(useconds)" script-command in module io doesn't work in the Windows version, since the usleep() function used in the source is non-standard.
  • The "Farmer Maggot" example is set as default script extension when starting the game. (Look at "examples/maggot/readme" for infos about this script extension)
  • Several script files have been added to the lib/scrpt directory to allow PAngband to run on systems without a Python installation. (the files are: pickle.py, strings.py, types.py, exceptions.py, StringIO.py, and copy_reg.py) These files can be found in the "lib/standard/scpt" folder as well.
  • An "error.py" script has been added and is imported by the init.py scripts. The new script redirects all output from Python "print" statements and error-messages to the build-in msg_print() function of Angband. All error messages are also logged in the file "error.txt" in the root-directory of the current drive.
  • The graphical tiles will look *weird*, because they are not adjusted for the new and rearranged terrains and monsters.

• ZAngband Python demo
  While working on the new ZAngband version I prepared a small demo quest using Python scripts. This demo is now available as source code, DOS, and Windows version.

  The "Thieves hideout" quest was replaced by a new quest supported by a Python script to create some effects that would not possible otherwise. This demo is an early *ALPHA* version, so it may be unstable. Savefiles from this demo will be incompatible to other ZAngband versions.

• ZAngband 2.2.3c available
  The bugfix for ZAngband is now available as: source code, DOS version, and Windows version.

  Changes since version 2.2.3b:

  • Fixed a bug in the weaponsmaster that could cause the inventory to get corrupted.
  • Worked around a bug in the optimizer of the Windows MS VC compiler that caused all entries in the list of racial powers and mutations to be labeled with "a)".
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the player to gain full knowledge about all monsters.
  • Kamikaze yeeks and Leprechaun fanatics are now fearless.
  • Fixed a bug in the "polymorph self" routine that could cause crashes.
  • Restored the 'Hellfire' spell to it's former glory. Evil monsters take extra damage, all others normal damage.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the player to fire anything with a bow that is too heavy to wield comfortably.
  • Fixed a bug that could place the player inside rubble after recalling down into the dungeon.
